PSU FOUNDATION AFFILIATES

Friends of History
The Friends of History is a group of individuals interested in history who believe that the Department of History at Portland State University offers a strong program worthy of community attention and support. The Friends of History promotes excellence in the teaching and study of history within the University and strives to increase awareness of this resource in the Portland metropolitan area.

RAPS
The Retirement Association of Portland State (RAPS) is the oldest university retirement association in the state of Oregon. The 300-member association includes all retired employees of the PSU, working faculty and staff 55 years of age or older and retired personnel from other accredited colleges or universities. Their mission is to promote continued collegiality and communication among retired personnel and provide a vehicle for them to remain in contact with each other and support the goals and endeavors of their University.

Geneforum
Geneforum was established to ensure that the decisions about genetic research and biotechnology are informed by public values. This partnership aims to promote public participation and dialogue on issues relating to ethical aspects of new genetic science. The science of genetics is increasingly impacting people's lives, yet the public lacks tools and avenues to participate in policy and ethics dialogues on these issues. The desired goal is to promote public participation and dialogue in the arena of new genetic technologies, in particular the social and ethical ramifications of such technologies.
